Christmas Sharing

This is the season of the year when we think of sharing with others. In keeping with the true spirit of this column, one of interaction, I thought it appropriate to share with you the Christmas program being planned by my club - the Kawartha Male Chorus of Ontario Canada, for our December concert. It is my hope that readers of "Interactive" will be moved to reciprocate with a listing of the selections in their Christmas concert by response to this column or in the Talk section. If you would wish to send a copy of any new or newly arranged pieces to my home address, (773 Cedar Glen Rd., RR1 Dunsford Ontario, Canada K0M 1L0), I will be pleased to forward them to AMCA Music Reviewer, Donald Crouch, for review and possible inclusion in next year's recommendations. Alternately, you could send these copies directly to Don for review.

A quick examination of the Kawartha program will reveal that only half the selections listed are seasonal. That is due to the fact that this year our district elected to hold a FALL district sing which reduced the amount of preparation time our chorus had to learn seasonal music specifically for this concert. Consequently, we chose the theme, "Seasons of the Year", in order to include music from our current repertoire and enable us to have a full concert.

My opinion of holding district sings in the fall is on record (see October's "Interactive" column) and here we have one more reason for not scheduling district concerts at this time of the year.

For selected pieces I have also included order information which was not included in the concert program, of course. If you wish information on any other pieces in the concert, I would be willing to supply it for you on request.
(Web Manager's Note: Publisher information on music selections may be available with a search on Shared Librares or a search in the Music for Male Chorus!)
I look forward to receiving your Christmas concert information. May I wish you and yours a very, very merry Christmas and a happy, happy New Year!
