The information contained in this column is available either on the Lansing Big Sing site (at http://amcofa.org/bs2003/) and/or in the three information booklets distributed at AMCA business meetings to attendees. ( http://www.amcofa.org/bs2003/brochure.html). While the intention was that delegates share the information with their district choruses, it may be that this has not always been done. Hence, this "fact sheet" which can be printed and shared with your chorus either verbally, or by duplication and distribution. Please be aware that further details and information can be found in the sources quoted above, or by contacting your District Governor. I hope that you will find this of value.

Agenda Highlights:

April 24 - registration, mall performances in afternoon and adjudication in the evening.
April 25 - registration, mall performances, workshops and evening concert by Three Men and a Tenor (See - http://www.threemenandatenor.com), an a cappella comedy quartet and Cantus (See - http://www.cantusonline.org).
April 26 - In the morning there are workshops by "Cantus", the Mass Rehearsal at 1:00, Concert at 7:30 followed by the Afterglow.

Ladies' Program

While the activities for our ladies is still being developed, there are some interesting things being planned to ensure that our spouses have an enjoyable visit to Lansing while we are at the workshops and rehearsal. Prime amongst these is the shopping opportunites to the two large malls in Lansing. Transportation is by shuttle bus right from your hotel! A bus trip to Frankemuth will also be available at reasonable cost.
(Author's note: If you have never visited Michigan's Little Bavaria (at http://www.frankenmuth.org/) and its quaint shops including the famous Bronners Christmas Store (at http://www.bronners.com/), you won't want to miss this opportunity - and if the trip includes nearby Birch Run's 170 stores in the Outlet Mall, then intrepid shoppers will be in ecstasy!).
Other events that are being considered are a "Quilt Display", a "Scrapbooking Room" and a "Ladies' Luncheon". This is an important part of a Sing weekend and we look forward to more information as plans progress.

Music List:

http://amcofa.org/bs2003/muslist_bs2003.html
All choruses planning to attend should now be aware of the music selected for the massed chorus. Many may have included the purchases of some or all in this year's music budget to lighten the expense for next year. Does your conductor and music committee have a copy of the list? To get one, go to the Lansing Sing site and click on "Music List".

Intention to Attend:

http://www.visi.com/~mhendrick/amca/lansing03_intent.html
Only nine AMCA choruses have indicated their intentions to date. To let the Lansing Sing organizers know if you plan to attend, go to the Sing site, click on "your preliminary chorus intention" under the heading "Big Sing 2003 Intentions", fill out the form and submit it electronically.

Ticket Prices:

To my knowledge, these have not yet been set.

Questions?

http://www.serve.com/macsite/cgiplus/lansing/poll.shtml
The person best to answer your questions is our busy sing coordinator, Gayle Pohl - gaylepohl@briarwoodrealty.com, but having attended all the AMCA meetings, I might be able to field some straightforward queries as well. If not, I'll refer you to Gayle.

I trust you will find this information useful and will take time to print a copy and share the information with your chorus. See you in Lansing!
