BITS AND PIECES (known AMCA trivia)

Tom Rayner has not "resigned" as Scholarship Chair but since he has been asked to run for AMCA VP he would like to be replaced as Scholarship Chair. Tom will continue as Scholarship Chair until a replacement is found. (Won't someone volunteer to fill the important position for AMCA).

The AMCA International Historian position is still open.

Dan Plunkett, Chorister Editor, has set a schedule for Chorister Publication for 2001/02. The first "blockbuster" issue is promised for September 7........ Your "Chorus Contact" will have your copy - make sure you get it....

Bill Bates, Exec Secretary, has distributed a Survey to District Leaders and Chorus Leaders. AMCA International is looking for "input" to see "how to better server" all of AMCA. Look for this Survey in September.

Officers-in-waiting for International Leadership Positions are:

Pres: Norm Goodling, VP1: Tom Rayner, VP2: George Pecor, VP3: Joel McLay.
Do YOU know them?
Elections are in October of 2001 at Milwaukee.
These people are voted upon by your delegates to the International Board Meeting.
Do YOU know your Delegate(s)?
Can you add a trivia piece about your own activities?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

If we don't let others know we care, how do they know we care?

Is this you.....
If someone offers an idea or thought, the greatest "put down" is to "walk away" (i.e. to not answer them).....

How about AMCA.....
Without communication between us, how can we build bonds within AMCA?

What is AMCA.....
Do we have "pride in ourselves only" or do we also wish others to succeed?
If we are successful, are we "confident enough" to share our methods with someone!
Do we really care if someone else is successful?

TRIVIA

Born before 1945? .... We are survivors....
"We were born before television, penicillin, polio shots, and frozen food..."

Things learned though the years...
"You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe "Daylight Saving Time".

Remember......
"When you got your windshield cleaned, oil checked, and gas pumped, without asking, for free, every time... And, you didn't pay for air... And, you got trading stamps to boot...

Remember when.... (Tech stuff)
"A COMPUTER was something on TV from a science fiction show..."

Everyone else is doing it...
"IF MICROSOFT BUILT CARS..........Occasionally, your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on."

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

It was visitors day at the lunatic asylum. All the inmates were standing in the courtyard and singing "Ave Maria" ... and singing it beautifully. Oddly, each of them was holding a red apple in one hand and tapping it rhythmically with a pencil.
A visitor listened in wonderment to the performance and then approached the choir.
"I am a retired choir director," he said. "This is one of the best choirs I have ever heard." "Yes, I'm very proud of them," said the conductor.
"You should take them on tour," said the visitor, "what are they called?"
"Surely that's obvious," replied the conductor, "...............They're the Moron Tapanapple Choir."
