Ramblings by George Pecor
Summer is almost gone and our rehearsal and singing season begins followed by the International meeting on October 29th and 30th. At this meeting, the proposed final change of our new by-laws and Constitution are to be voted on by the executive board for presentation to all the chorus members. Ric and Paul have been diligently reworking the document to offer a simple but legal document to carry us forward. Dave Thomas has added to the Web Page and if you need the password, please contact Dave, John or me. The document is for your perusal and suggestions can be sent to Ric, John or me to be incorporated into the final document.
My big concern is that many choruses do not use the electronic mail and the Web Site offered to us for quicker response to ongoing changes in our organization. It has been an observation that less than 30% have the courtesy of acknowledging receipt of the information and that most don't realize the benefit of making the AMCA an effective, strong entity in the formation of male choruses.
We must strive to get better and this is the time to tell your representatives your thoughts on the changes in our governance for the future. The organization is interested that everyone have a voice, so all can claim the association as their own. If we take the time to share and care, we can benefit that each and everyone will do their part in what we know will be renewed success.
Feel free to contact John, Ric or me, if you need more clarification.
