Blueprint for Progress: We have, in place, the committees and chairpersons to begin the serious work outlined before us in the "Blueprint for Progress". We recognize our problems and seek to solve them in a timely fashion. We have a terrific team of officers and delegates who have stepped up to work on the separate areas of concern that we have defined. I'm sure, if you responded to the AMCA Survey last Fall, you will soon hear from those chairpersons requesting your input to the solutions we seek. I would remind you all that these individuals travel to meet twice a year(minimum) often at their own expense. They accept your election of them as delegates to represent your voices in the operation of associated male choruses. What greater compliment can be paid to any individual then your support of their efforts? Big Sing 2003: Plans are progressing rapidly for our visit to Lansing, the capital city of Michigan, to attend the International BIG SING 2003. The Lansing Orpheus Chorus, Gayle Pohl-Director, and the Michigan District are doing a fine job insuring that our visit will be "one to remember!" You can visit the arrangements on the AMCA Web Site and now preview the attendees viewing the facilities on the Web Site compliments of photos taken by Bill Bates. Composition Contest: One of the highlights of that recent meeting was the opportunity to meet Willard (Bill) S. Fast and his lovely wife at the dinner Saturday evening. Bill, if you are unaware, is the composer of "The Song of Thanksgiving", the winner of the 2001 AMCA Music Contest. Bills' association with the male choruses of Flint MI proceeds him and his enthusiasm for the future is fantastic! Look for his piece "Christmastime Is Here Again" to be reviewed soon by music reviewer Don Crouch. So much is happening and it is truly an exciting time to to be a part of this organization. I urge you to communicate with your elected officers and delegates...they are here to represent you!
Singcerely,
