From the Scholarship Chair

Many thanks to the members of the Upper Midwest District

Many thanks to the members of the Upper Midwest District of the AMCA for their generosity during the Rochester 2005 Big Sing. Their donations to the scholarship find came within a few dollars of being the largest ever. On a per person basis, it was far and away the highest level of contribution ever provided.

This clearly demonstrates that our chorus members are committed to this activity.

As a result of this, and hopefully with similar results from the other two districts we will be able to restart and continue scholarships at or near the most recent levels.

Letters and document will be sent to all choruses in the next 3 - 5 weeks. Start identifying good scholarship candidates.

This process needs qualified and interested evaluators. We will be starting fresh with new people. It is our intention to find six such people, some from every district. If you are interested, please let me know through the AMCA website.

We will also examine the existing evaluation format to determine if and how it can be made more effective and objective.
