17 January 2006 Gentlemen, We are six weeks away from the time when Documentation is due for Scholarship applicants. Please don't forget the responsibility of the choruses. By now most choruses should have had the opportunity to examine potential candidates and listen to their performance capability. This is an important step in the decision for sponsoring a student. Encourage your candidates to get their paper work in order regarding academic records and letters of recommendation. Be sure to remind them that our Evaluators need to hear their music being sung or played. A CD or cassette needs to accompany their documents. You all need to know that I have received some communication directly from interested students regarding whom to contact for this program. In every case they have been directed to someone in a chorus closest to their location. Several of you receiving this note will be receiving a message from me for the first time. I have taken your names from one of the 'contact lists' in the AMCA website. If you feel that you should not be on this list please let me know, however I do ask that you provide an appropriate name and e-mail address of a person within your chorus. I am looking forward to receipt of materials from all of you regarding your sponsored applicants.
