Re: Scholarship Candidates

     The time line for input to our scholarship program has just passed. It was very gratifying to see this program get underway again after a one year hiatus.
     Thank you to those choruses that successfully promoted this activity.
     Next year we must all strive to search out more student candidates for this program.
     There was one thing noticed while reading the various letters from students and their supporters. This is that these young students wish to excel at their music vocation. In the process, and while still quite young, they have managed to impress others with their desire, hard work and presentation capabilities.
     All of this brings another thought to the forefront. The AMCA needs to find a way to fund more scholarships. We will be asking more of each AMCA Chorus in the future in regards to finding candidates. Doing so suggests that the AMCA (we) also find the ways and means to provide its support to more of these deserving students.
     At this time application documentation and recording material is being copied for our evaluators. Soon it will all be ready and our evaluators will placed in the position of having to examine carefully and make their choices.
     Again, thanks to those that helped us get this program underway again.
