Approval of Minutes of 3/25/00 meeting

2001 Big Sing Report :Blandin - THE FOLLOWING TAKEN FROM WEB SITE, 3/5/01
The adjudication will be held in the Miles Reif Center on Friday 27 April 2001. The Reif Center is an auditorium designed for the arts and seats 650 people. All thirteen choruses will sing two numbers each and will be critiqued by one of the three adjudicators present. The program will begin at 7:00PM. There is no charge for anyone attending these performances.

Saturday morning will begin at the Miles Reif Center with coffee and rolls at 8:30AM till they are gone. Sight reading will begin at 9:00AM and run till approximately 11:00AM. We are attempting to set up a soup and sandwich around noon at the Fourth Street Station and the Eagles Club. The ladies will have a luncheon at the Sawmill Motel starting at 11:30AM, the Directors and Accompanists will meet at Forest Lake Lodge at noon.

The afternoon session will begin at 1:30PM in the IRA Arena.

Saturday evening will begin at 7:30PM in the IRA Arena with the after-glo following the concert in the auditorium connected to the Arena.

International Scholarship Chair Proposal from International UMD is opposed to adding scholarship chair to the Executive Committee.

Use of WWW for Chorister Distribution
Recommended that hard copy be available and web posting be done. Send a fixed number of paper copies to each chorus for distribution as appropriate unless chorus requests otherwise.

Discussion of “More Laid Back” Afterglow Provide for more singing, consider food options, snacks vs. full meal.

International AMCA Board Meeting locations Next meetings scheduled in Milwaukee

Chorus reports on Liability Insurance Some do, Some Don’t. CS pays $385 annually.

Copies of guidebook should be distributed to Governors for suggestions for updates to be discussed at Spring meeting.

Bison Chorus Inquiry Blandin encouraged to invite Bison Chorus from Winnipeg to participate in Friday activities of Big Sing and observe.

Luncheon
Report from Directors' Meeting - Selections for 2001 Big Sing presented and approved. Recommend that email stay in meeting format. Recommend revisiting Saturday format, including solos, guests, additional groups.
